Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We do not sell your personal data — ever.

GetHumanized ("we," "us," or "our") operates gethumanized.app and related services. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your personal information when you use GetHumanized.

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

  • Email address (required for account creation)
  • Hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords)
  • Google account ID and profile email (if you use Google Sign-In)
  • Account creation date and your chosen subscription plan

Usage Data

  • Word count of text submitted for humanization (for quota tracking)
  • Number of API calls made (Unlimited plan)
  • Feature usage patterns (e.g., which humanization mode you select)
  • Date and time of Service interactions

Technical Data

  • IP address and approximate geographic location (country/region)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URLs and pages visited on our site

Payment Data

  • We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe stores payment details under Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Text Input — Important Note

We process the text you submit to humanize it, but we do not permanently store the content of your submissions. Text is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) in real time and is not retained beyond the processing necessary to deliver results to you.

How We Collect It

We collect data through the following methods:

  • Directly from you — when you create an account, submit text, or contact support.
  • Google OAuth — when you choose "Continue with Google," Google shares your email and unique ID with us.
  • Automatically — through server logs, cookies, and standard web analytics when you use the Service.
  • Payment processor — Stripe shares transaction records with us to confirm your subscription status.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you on each visit.
  • Provide the humanization and detection services you request.
  • Track your monthly word quota and enforce plan limits.
  • Process your subscription payments and send billing receipts.
  • Send important service updates, security alerts, and legal notices.
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries.
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service (never tied to individual content).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We will not use your data for advertising, never sell it to third parties, and will not share it except as described in this policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, payment processing). They are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.
  • Legal obligations: If we are required by law, court order, or government authority to disclose information, we will do so and will notify you if legally permitted.
  • Business transfers: If GetHumanized is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer to the new entity subject to at least equivalent privacy protections.
  • With your consent: For any other purpose, only with your explicit consent.

Third-Party Services

GetHumanized relies on the following key third-party services:

OpenAI — We send your input text to OpenAI's API to process humanization and detection requests. OpenAI processes this data under OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models (as of March 2026).

Google — If you use Google Sign-In, Google shares your email address and account ID with us. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Stripe — All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where:

  • Retention is required by law (e.g., financial records may be retained for up to 7 years).
  • Data is required to resolve any outstanding disputes or enforce our agreements.

Aggregate, anonymized analytics data (with no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely to improve our Service.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:

  • All passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text).
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
  • Authentication tokens (JWTs) are signed and expire after 30 days.
  • We use industry-standard hosting with access controls and monitoring.

No security system is perfect. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

Cookies & Local Storage

GetHumanized uses browser localStorage to store your authentication token so you remain signed in between sessions. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

We may use minimal first-party analytics (e.g., page view counts) that do not collect personally identifiable information. You can clear localStorage at any time in your browser settings, which will sign you out.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@gethumanized.app. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's Privacy

GetHumanized is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at privacy@gethumanized.app and we will promptly delete that data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or Service features. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
